Progress Review

This is only available for children/young people who have had a previous assessment or a period of therapy with the SLT, to provide a review of their progress, and to develop/update supportive speech and language strategies.

(If, in the course of this session, it becomes clear that a detailed assessment is required to gain a more thorough understanding of your child's need and to make recommendations for appropriate support, this package can be upgraded to a Standard Assessment package, and will then be charged as such.  Any decision to upgrade will be discussed and agreed with you before we go ahead.)

The review session involves:

1. Information gathering/updates from you and, if necessary and with your permission, from school/nursery.

2. Working with your child through play, observations and informal tasks.  The purpose is to obtain a picture of your child's language and communication ability to monitor his/her progress, and to advise further actions required to address your child's needs, e.g. referral to another service.

3. Feedback to you on the SLT's findings, and advice on strategies to help.  We will also discuss next steps.  

A short, time-limited follow-up home programme can be provided, by your request, upon completion of this session.  This must be requested at or before the session, and will be charged at a rate of £30.00 per week's worth.  Programmes with material provided are charged at a rate of £60.00 per week's worth (10-15mins per day per 5-day week).  

A short report can be provided upon conclusion of the session as part of this package, by your request and is charged at £300.00 (£380.00 for a report including PLP targets for school/nursery).  Alternatively, you can request a report within 1 month after the session but this will be charged at £360.00 (£440.00 for a report including PLP targets for school/nursery).    Cases that have had no contact for 1 month or more are closed, and no report will be provided without another Progress Review or Full SLT assessment be conducted, which will be charged as such.
