Staff Training

Whole staff training can be offered on the premises, and can be provided to both teaching and non-teaching staff.

Training may be on a variety of topics related to speech, language, communication and social functioning in children with autism spectrum/social communication difficulties. The exact topic and scope of the training is discussed and agreed with the school, based on the training needs of the staff.

The SLT also provides bespoke "Education-team-around-the-child" training for members of the school staff who are working with a specific child in the school. The content of the training will be tailored to the specific needs of the child, and the training can be updated and provided year on year, as the child works with different teacher/adults. Education-team-around-the-child training is offed only for children who are currently on the SLT's caseload.

Training is charged at an hourly rate based on the number of participants. Bookings are for a minimum of 1 hour, and by 30-.minute increments thereafter.

For an audience of up to 20 people: £150.00 per hour

For an audience of 21-40 people: £250.00 per hour

For an audience of 41-60 people: £330.00 per hour

An audience of more than 60 must be split into 2 groups or more, and training be delivered in separate sessions (same content).  The training will be charged at an hourly rate based on the size of each group, e.g. a one-hour training session for 100 people, split into 2 separate sessions, each with an audience of 50, will cost £660.00; e.g one hour for 80 people, split into 2 sessions, each with an audience of 40, will cost £500.00.

Training may be delivered as a combination of talk and small group workshops, as appropriate, for an audience of up to 20 people.  For an audience of more than 20 people, training will be delivered as talk only (may include some whole group brainstorm).  

The training session/s will be charged according to the number of participants as pre-agreed, even if fewer actually attend on the day.  If the actual number of participants on the day exceeds that which has been pre-agreed, the cost will be adjusted up to the level that matches the actual number of participants, and the funding organisation will be invoiced for the additional charge accordingly.  

For training that involves more than 1 day, the whole training package will be charged based on the number of attendees on the most-attended day, if it exceeds that which has been pre-agreed.

By commissioning the SLT’s service, both the school and the commissioning organisation (e.g. school or local authority) enter into a contractual agreement with the SLT, and all parties will abide by the terms and conditions of the SLT’s service, as laid out on the CommuniAction.uk website, including any updates to these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are subject to periodical review and update without prior notice, and are posted on the CommuniAction.uk website.  Service users/commissioners are advised to check the website at intervals to stay up-to-date of any change in the the terms and conditions of the SLT’s service.
